Our oldest and still with us is Sassy.....pedigree name Glenone Fantasia d.o.b. 21st Dec 1997

so her age will be 12 go on to 13 this coming Dec.

she is doing great still .....eye sight still ok for her age but understandably not the best.

she only as the short walk now and lets us know when she`s ready to return home

i had two golden retriever brothers , Bilko and Bracken
one died at 10 and his brother at the good old age of 14.

those boys took a piece of my heart when they left !

i dont think any of our family dogs would top any of your dogs' ages! most have been GSD's none living beyond 12, baby the spaniel here is nearly 12 too!

I've been trying to contact Spots previous owner for the last few days, but all the telephone numbers I had are no longer obtainable. I've been a bit busy with other things as well so not really had the opportunity to go and see her.
I'll try and sort it out as soon as I can.

We've just lost our lovely girl Jasmine at 14.5 years old (to the day) and funny enough she was often affectionately called Jazz. Must be a fortuitous name!

All 8 of our Basenji's lived to 17-18 years old. Borzoi's 8 and 12. Dalmation 7 (died of cancer)

A lady up the road had a Miniature schnauzer called Benji and he lived into his 17th year and my Dad had a poodle another Benji and he lived into his 21st year...The Miniature schnauzer mentioned above was the inspiration to own one for me he was a real gentleman...

My girl Brynsmore Supertramp, Heidi, is just 3 weeks off being 17 1/2 years old. She is quite deaf and blind, has a slight heart murder and a little arthritis and a slightly enlarged liver but is otherwise still going strong. She has recently undergone extensive medical testing as we thought she was slowing down and wanted to be sure if there was anything we could do to support her but apart from the slightly enlarged liver nothing was found. She sleeps a lot and only goes for walks if she wants to but otherwise still behaves as if she is quite happy with her lot, which is quite spoilt now obviously. She loves to be cuddled by her dad and carried about when she is not fast asleep. We have had her since she was about 9 months old and we have her papers and vaccination card (which we have had to put a sticker on the back cover to extend the entries). The vets who look after her are amazed at how well she is. She does take some looking after now as she needs to pee within moments of waking up so she needs a lot of attention. We must wake her up regularly to take her out or suffer the consequences.
I hope this continues for a very long time.

Gosh what an age, every day is so precious with them.


My Suzi was 10 years old this week, a very healthy dog despite having 12 teeth out in January but hasn't affected her still as active as a puppy. Love her to bits she is a joy to have

Our Spot, the Jack Russell is 23.

23 human years? Wow.

Sophie is 15 years and 5 months now. She is doing really well and still loves her food and daily walks in the forest. Her hearing is a bit diminished but she can hear some things. Never sure as she has always had selective hearing anyway. Her eyesight is still quite good thank goodness. The only health problem is a monthly night fit which only lasts about a minute but recovery can last up to an hour so I brace myself for that. She is usually back to her usual self the next day so could be worse. She is one spoilt pooch these days and of cours I hope she will go for ever. Heidi has done amazingly well to get to well over 17 years. It's so sad though to see them get older and lose that boundless energy of their younger years.
