Welcome to the Forum Jonathan and Coco :)

Lovely photo too :o3

If you are considering breeding for the first time, do make sure that Coco’s breeder is happy for you to breed from her and hopefully able to mentor you and that you have the time, money and commitment to breed responsibly. Breeding well is demanding of time (24/7 for several weeks), emotionally and physically draining and can be costly especially the first time.

As regards miniature schnauzer health requirements, Coco will need a clear DNA certificate for MAC and clear eye screening certificate for the hereditary eye conditions which can affect mini schnauzers. You will want to make sure any sire you are considering also has the relevant health certificates too. A health test pedigree showing clear eye screens for dogs further back in the pedigree is an important additional reassurance for you and any potential puppy buyers.

There is some very useful information on the following links which may help you decide whether you do want to embark on breeding and, if so, guiding you through some of the steps you will need to take to ensure you have the welfare of Coco and her potential puppies as a priority, and also an illustration of the basic commitments required in terms of raising happy, self confident puppies:
