Gracie and butt chasing

Had enough of your Schnauzer for one day. Then sit back, relax and put your feet up. You can let off a little steam here about things unrelated to your four-legged schnauzer.

Gracie and butt chasing

Post by nohelphere 99 »

I posted earlier with an issue of star gazing and butt chasing troubling my miniature schnauzer Gracie. She is a 5 1/2 year old rescue. Is very sensitive to everything including her surroundings and meds. She became incontinent from Previcox after experiencing a luxating patella. She's been seeing my vet regularly and he is stymied by her behavior. It started after she had 7 teeth extracted. She's now on Prilosec and some CBD and her behavior has calmed but has anyone else experienced anything like this with their pup?

It sounds as though Gracie is reacting to passing wind - flatulence - which is one of the side effects of Prilosec:

“Omeprazole (Prilosec) is usually well tolerated by dogs and cats. However, it can sometimes cause GI upset (poor appetite, colic, nausea, vomiting, flatulence….”)

There are more comments from Forum members on your previous post but if Gracie is not unwell apart from the ‘butt chasing’ I would not worry :)
