Norman...Superstar...RIP

Saying goodbye to our Schnauzers is the hardest part. Share your memories here as we bid farewell to our beloved friends. They've crossed the bridge and returned to the meadow in full health and free of injuries. Running free. We won't forget.

Norman...Superstar...RIP

Post by Al T »

Not been on here for a while.
Just a quick note & a thank you to all the members who helped us through Normans spinal injury in Sept 2013..We couldn't have done it without you, sincerely.
Norman sadly had to be put to sleep today aged 12 and a half
He had 6 yrs 9 months of fantastic life adapting from 4 legs to 2 front legs & rear wheels
I'll stand corrected but I think his thread at that time may still be one of the most viewed ever on this forum
He'll be enormously missed
Thanks again folks
Regards
Al (and family).

I am so sorry to see this, and believe me I know how you feel. I really enjoyed the updates and laughed (in a good way) at his occasional "rollover" and other misshaps. I remember when he first got his wheels and I know that since then you have made sure that he has lived life to the full.
I know that you must have many wonderful memories of Norman and I am so pleased that you were able to share some of them with us.
He was a special little dog.

Al, so sorry to hear that you have had to put Norman to sleep.

Thank you for sharing his journey with us. He proved just what resilient little dogs they are.

Run free, little man.

Al, I read his story when I joined a couple of years ago I shared it with friends whose dog had a similar condition and they were considering puting her to sleep. They got their dog a set of wheels and in Northern Ireland there's a cairn terrier with 2 front legs and 2 wheels still going strong. Norman was their inspiration and I'll be sure to let them know of your loss.

Sorry for your loss and for being late in responding, I haven't been able to logon for a week. You gave him those extra wonderful years, some people wouldn't have. We still miss Barney everyday and talk about him all the time, you'll be the same, it helps sharing happy memories :ymhug:
