Heeeres Ovie!
Hi everyone!
Here's our beloved little guy, he's been with us 5 days and he's a ball full of energy!
Having only his first vaccine done, we can't take him out yet - which results in lots of play and biting and even barking sometimes. We're trying to make him be a bit more obedient, but I guess we can't expect too much at 10 weeks? He definitely is stubborn and won't listen to us sometimes. Anyway! Here's a picture of our darling, enjoy!

He's a cutie pie
If he's not listening and being stubborn it could be he's ready for a nap. They can behave very much like an over tired toddler.
Short 5 min training sessions several times a day will tire him out far quicker than physical exercise. Simple things like sits or yoyo come between two people. Putting kibble in empty plastic bottles so he has to work out knocking it about gets the treat.

Sweet photo
Hopefully you are taking him out and about even if he has not yet had his full set of vaccines? Although you will not put him down on the ground in public places until the course is complete, it is really important that Ovie is introduced to as many experiences as possible in the next few weeks to avoid behavioural issues later - and these experiences will tire him out as his brain processes all the new sights, sound and scents.
You can carry him in your arms, use a puppy carrier or invest in a puppy buggy but do take him out and make sure that he gets to meet and play with people and other (vaccinated healthy) dogs at your home.
I have posted this link on a different thread re socialisation but do have a look at this video which gives an idea of what you need to do in these early weeks - it will make a big difference and it will help tire him out as well as socialising him:

Re: Heeeres Ovie!
Hi this is Ovisdad! my wife and I shared login details so we could both access all your amazing insights and thoughts on how we can take care of our little fella. We really appreciate your time and effort in helping us through our first weeks.
@zeta - we have definitely been socialising him as much as possible. Today was his first tube ride all the way from camden to old street and he was prince charming. All the ladies love him and he has just the most adorable look for strangers. He even managed to sleep on the way back and we were pretty impressed with his patience for the high energy pup that we know he can be. We will look at your video and definitely keep at it!
@dawn - yes he loves his training! we have managed to get him to acknowledge sit, jump, leave it and get it! He is just too excited by food to "lay down" so not yet got to that command He does the most cutest thing when I tell him to sit randomly and he obeys and then expectantly looks at my hands.
@saint - thank you so very much! Ovi adores the compliments!
Thank you all! Loving every minute of puppyhood!
Keep your compliments coming in! I am such a proud daddy

I think you will have years of adoring looks to come - My sons tell me that (at 2 and a half) ioli is still as much of a babe magnet as she was when she was a pup

Re: Heeeres Ovie!
Absolutely get him out and about..fit him into your lifestyle now and it will pay dividends later..mine go into the busy city of Turin each week and face raging, six lane city traffic to get the the city park..little Robin takes this in her stride as she has been there since she was 8 weeks in her carry bag..malls,schools,busy markets and so on...you will find as your boy outgrows his bag he will be more than ready to walk..
I'd also get him a well fitting puppy harness so that he is safe when you put him down..he can go down after his first vacc but not in high dog trafficked places..remember he will also have acquired antibodies from his mom too.
Try not to worry too much, these are the best times and you will have so much enjoyment from this breed...it's a lot to look forward to.

Adorable!!! We definitely need more pictures ;)
I'm glad things are mostly going well, you'll get there with training, he's still getting to know you and bonding at the moment. Glad you're able to get out and about
