Our mini is coming up for 14yo and still runs about like a puppy. I'm trying to find out if the breeder is still active and perhaps bring him up to date with one of his schnauzers. Alfie was picked up from a breeder in the Scottish borders, perhaps around Selkirk/ Melrose area. I don't have specifics as I wasn't involved in the selection, my boys appeared on the night of my birthday and he has been with us every day since.
His KC name is Monserrat Ushanka and he was from a litter of I believe 2 boys and 4 girls. A link should be in my sig if it help anyone suggest how to find breeder.

Re: Searching for breeder - perhaps very long shot
Hello Elaine,
The name and contact details of Alfie’s breeder should be on his Kennel Club registration papers which would have been given to whoever purchased him as a puppy. Often families forget about the documentation they received when they collected their puppy as the excitement of the new arrival is what is most important to them. However, if you know who it was that collected Alfie from his breeder, they should have the paperwork or maybe have given it to you subsequently.
I have had a look at the link you gave but it doesn’t seem as though Monserrat is a kennel affix as the other pups in the litter have various names whereas, if the breeder did have one, the kennel affix would be applied to all pups in a litter. This does make it harder to identify the breeder at this late stage unless someone on the Forum recognises the names / locality. Your best source otherwise is to try and find Alfie’s registration papers which will have the breeder’s name and address/ contact no. for the time he was sold.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
It was my two sons who collected Alfie and any documents from the time will be long since filed away.
I was kinda hoping that a borders mini breeder may have rung a bell with something as he appears to be behind several litters of mini

We got our first Mini Schnauzer from a breeder just outside Carlisle & she still breeds, our current one came from Ayrshire but she only had two litters with his mother.
