Puppy shaking after grooming

Grooming is an important part of looking after your Schnauzer. Regular grooming will help keep your Schnauzer healthy and comfortable and you will spot potential problems early. Whether you decide to clip or strip your Schnauzer, help is on hand. Schnauzers are generally a non-shedding breed and will require a fair amount of grooming to get rid of dead hair.

Puppy shaking after grooming

Post by JennJenn9414 »

I took my 5 month old mini schnauzer to the groomer for his second grooming. The first time he did fine and afterwards he was fine. This time after I picked him up he seems like he's been traumatized or something...I don't know what she could have done to him.but his skin was bright red all over his body...and he does not have any skin issues or allergies I had to take him to the vet the next day to make sure he was ok. Now he shakes all the time like he's terrified of everyone and any sound. I talked to the groomer and she said she didn't harm him in any way. She tried to say it was my fault his skin was like that. And not to bathe him or take him to the vet for 30 days. What should I do

Find a new groomer :(

A groomer shouldnt be saying dont go the vet. The red skin could be due to many reasons but it shows the skin has been irritated in some way which shouldnt happen when going to the groomers.

He's showing signs of stress, which if you take him back to the same groomer the chances are he will get worse. The groomer said she didnt harm him but all dogs are different. What some dog take in their stride others will be mortified. Jasper is like that, I didnt realise he was behind me the other day and turned around and walked into him just pushing him aside. He was beside himself thinking he'd done something wrong, curling his body, lip licking and being submissive bless him, most dogs wouldn't have even noticed they'd been pushed :))
