Waterproof warm coat for miniature schnauzer

Post by megabark »

Can anyone recommend a sturdy coat for our mini? Our most recent one was warm but constant use of the zip plus washing it when muddy meant the zip gave up long before the coat itself showed wear and tear, so we are trying to find one with a sturdy zip, or alternate method of fastening.

Many thanks!

I have had 2 Ancol Muddy Paws rain coats for my 2 for 10 years now. They are still going strong. The elastic in the back leg area eventually gave in, but my local tailor was able to replace that for me. Highly recommend them. Ancol Muddy Paws raincoat on Amazon

I have 2 equafleece jumpers for after walks. Keeps them clean and warm once they have been out for a wet walk and are back home. https://www.equafleece.co.uk/products/dogs/dog-jumper These are also around 10 years old now. I will even go out in walks with them on, if it is not too wet and cold.

I offer my advice freely, but I am not an expert, breeder, groomer or behaviourist. It is simply my experience of raising pups in a way that seems to make sense.

I've been buying coats from www.doggiecoats.co.uk since 2004, they are easy to put on as your dog steps in & they zip up the back. They keep the tummy dry, they also do an 'all in one', which I use for the snow.

Consider the Ruffwear Climate Changer Jacket or the Hurtta Extreme Warmer, both known for durability and alternative fastening methods. They offer warmth and are built to withstand frequent use and washing.
