Carding and stripping advice pls
Hey, I have been reading past posts to see what is the best knife/tool to use but I can't find any recent. For those who use a carding knife which would you recommend? I'm new at this and only now starting out. Eventually I'd like to strip too. Any advice for a beginner or tool recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Carding and stripping advice pls
I started with the Mars 330 but then I got the Hauptner Universal with the dark blue handle and a lot of others in between that I didnt really like. They are both general purpose for doing all over the body which is ideal for the beginner. They are easily available on amazon. The ones I use the most at the minute is DK groomer knives. These are more expensive and are only available direct from DK groomer. Its finding what is comfortable for you.
I would start with one of the cheaper knives to see how you get along and dont worry too much about getting fine and course etc to begin with. If its just a pet groom not for show then you can get away without them. For example you would use a fine knife for doing the top of the head and ears where the coat needs to be short on a show coat, but I tend to scissor the head and kind of blend it by stripping from in between his ears backwards if that makes sense. His ears I leave hair quite long and just clip the hair or scissor so dont use a fine tooth knife at all.
