Possible Thyroid Tumor

Post by crazler »

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and not sure about this question. So I took my 3 year old Mini to the vet today for her regular visit vaccination while I was there they weighed her 23 lbs which I think is a bit over weight so I asked the vet the question and she replied well not really anyway long story short I HAD TO ASK her if she could run a thyroid check and she did and it turns out she is HYPER not HYPO but she is pretty heavy and stocky. I asked about medication and she stated out of her scope??? Suggested I see a specialist she might have a thyroid tumor??? I am horrified and feel like she was mis diagnosed to say the least I am so sad and lost. Has anyone had something like this with there pup HELP

You will really need to seek out a second veterinary opinion on this one if your current vet cannot help or ask if s/he can refer you to the relevant specialist.
