Excellent, thank you, it's going to be another good year, it's already coming together nicely thanks to people like you offering to do it all again :D

Where is the nearest walk organized to Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. I would love to go to one but do not want to travel too far. I don't know of a suitable area locally myself to set one up. Otherwise I might think of organizing one myself.

Nothing in the area yet, but am sure there'll be something within reach...if not, we'll be delighted if you organised one ;)

We have 9 walks confirmed so far for this years Schnauzerfest. We're aiming for loads more and there's plenty of time but do get your ideas, or offers to host in. Walks of all sizes are welcome, don't be put off if you think not many will join you, it won't matter, small walks are going to be preferred by plenty of people we're sure. There are dogs who don't like crowds and dogs who love them. The weekend is one for everyone, whatever the needs. BUT, it totally relies on people offering to share their walks as hosts.

There's a suggestion today on the Schanuzerfest Facebook page (which is public and like a regular website so no need to be a facebooker to view any of the information there) for Barry Island in Wales.

This year funds are being raised for two rescues, the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre, a place close the hearts of many of us here on the forum, and East Midlands Dog Rescue. People making donations can choose which, or both, they support. Like last year, we are keeping the bureaucracy and 'rules' to a minimum :D

I think these links should work and take you directly to the individual walks. I'll add them here to the calendar in the next few days.

So options for Hertfordshire/North London Walks - Ashridge, Wendover Woods, Lea Valley Park - Anyone got any preferences or suggestions?

Options for Cambridgeshire: Houghton, either through the fields or the Thicket, Peterborough, Nene Valley Park or Cambridge, Milton Park. Again, any preferences or other suggestions?

Another walk's been confirmed, Bradgate Park, Leicester. Brings us to 10 :D

Discussions going on for Hampshire, Wales and Kate's offers above, so plenty in the pipeline. Do feel free to suggest any, offer to host (which is easy, not a burden at all, or we certainly hope it's not).

It's really great seeing people getting behind the weekend, sharing their walks and enthusiasm for supporting 2 great little rescues doing good work for dogs. If you see a walk in your area, but fancy hosting one yourself, do get in touch and we'll get it listed as an event. There are going to be lots of people who may prefer smaller walks, or a different time, or day, the more walks we have, the more all-embracing the weekend will be, which is what it's all about, dogs having fun, humans raising funds.

We now have 33 walks confirmed for Schnauzerfest \:D/ Plenty of time to get more in. Take a look at the list here, even if one is planned nearby and you'd like to offer to host one, do get in touch as people will always be happy to have a choice and certainly there are plenty of dogs and people who will prefer a smaller gathering. Or try the alternate day if one's planned already. People are keen to go on walks both days if options are there :)

This year is shaping up brilliantly, as well as the walks being planned, there are things that people are creating and others are buying in exchange for donations, it's really bringing out a fantastic creative, cooperative spirit in everyone taking part.

We have a few things in the pipeline to gain more support and participation, including an upcoming feature on DBARC and Schnauzerfest in a future issue of Dogs Today magazine :D \:D/

Please think about taking part in whatever way you can :)

Saturday 17th October Donmouth Aberdeen. 11am. There is a car park in Donmouth Road. AB23 8DR

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@57.17638 ... 6656?hl=en

Sunday 18th October. 10:30am
A lovely location, a walk around a Loch.
Malcolm has arranged for there to be no 'stock' in the field that links the loch walk with the playbarn/restaurant for refreshments, so it'll be easy to walk with a decent group of dogs without any worry.

This agreement also means more and easier parking than at the usual starting point.

Start and end point of the walk, Greenfields, Playbarn/The Barn Carvery, Lhanbryde, Elgin, Moray IV30 8LN

35 walks now, which is terrific. All across the country, including as far north as Orkney.
