White hair in black mini schnauzer

Hi everyone! Is it normal for a black mini schnauzer to have 5 white hairs ? His parents are pure black.

Yes, it is quite normal. I have 2 black boys and they both get white hairs occasionally. One has more than the other, but he is from P&S / Black parentage.

My black and silver boy sometimes gets a few white hairs in his jacket. His parents were both black but likely some P/S genes mixed in. I wonder when/if you pull the white hairs they grow back white?

Both my whites have had the odd black hair and an odd banded hair. My first boy was all whites in his pedigree going back 5 generations, my current boy has one black in the 5th generation otherwise all whites.

Kat the black hairs do grow back.

Also for whoofs and wiggles, I've been asked a few times if Ozzy is a scottie too! They say the black is not often seen.

Haha I know!!! And he has long legs. I think it's because most of the minis around here are P&S. If they are black, they often look grey or brown due to clippering. Idk....I get asked all the time what he is lol! Only guesses I got was scottie

Nothing unusual to be honest. Our Hugo (Giant) was pure black, met both parents when we got him, were fully registered with the Kennel Club and were pure black too. However, did have the odd white hair and nothing to be concerned about.
