Xylitol

Looking after the health and welfare of your Schnauzer can be a full time job. You will find information on neutering, spaying, vaccinations, vet visits, upset tummies, Schnauzer bumps and much more here. Ask a question and someone will have had a similar experience. We also appreciate updates on how your Schnauzer is recuperating. A separate section is dedicated to our older Schnauzers.

Xylitol

Post by Dawnspell »

Just in case anybody didn't know xylitol is toxic to dogs and can be found in many food items.

In addition to this though manufacturers are now changing their labelling and renaming it birch sugar. Xylitol is produced from birch trees but the manufacturers think birch sugar sounds more like a natural product rather than chemical name of xylitol. So keep a look out :D

Oh thank you for this! I really thought it was an artificial sweetener, not even sugar at all.
