Obedience training

Post by mikegoodson1 »

I saw this image on Facebook and it made me smile, it's certainly relevant in my case.

Sasha seems to determine what she learns and what she doesn't learn ;)

Ha ha we miss out pictures 1-8 and go straight to 9 since Barney has no interest in treats =))

But would like to add to caption...

Lol, in 14.5 years Oscar would never sit on a hard floor unless carpeted. A trainer wouldn't believe me and 30 mins later after trying to get him to sit on a wooden floor he gave up and said he had never seen a dog refuse to sit or lie down before. I then put my coat on the floor and Oscar promptly placed his bottom on it.

That is really spooky Julie because one of the walks I take Oscar and Sasha on is an old airfield, so a tarmac/concrete path around grass/fields.

Sasha will just not sit on that tarmac/concrete at all, Oscar will.

If I move off slightly to the grass, she will sit down straight away. She will sit on a wooden floor, carpeted floor etc but her bum just doesn't do cold concrete/tarmac :-??

lol I have a 12 year old airedale who went to puppy ,obedience and onto agility. She was never competition standard or even close but most times she did as asked in the doggy classroom. Outside the classroom however was not part of her training manual. Tried everything but she resisted even though she is very food driven, You could almost see the speech bubbles '' Sit is for classrooms not this open field'' Come! where? why? Fetch! you get it you threw it.
