Meet Elliot

The Schnauzer puppy stage goes by so quickly, so make sure you get lots of pictures and make sure that you share them with the rest of us. Bristle noses, floppy ears and wagging tails are all welcome.

Welcome Elliott...I love his direct eye contact in every pic...I believe he will become the leader of your pack!
Your pics are really lovely, did you take them in b/ w or did you covert the image?
My black girl still looks like a black blur unless we photograph her outside...any tips?

Hi Jo
Thank you for your kind words about Elliot and the images. :)

I took these over the weekend using a DSLR and a 100mm macro lens. The lens has image stabilisation and a max apperture of f2.8 so I can maximise the shutter speed and hence get less motion blur. The downside is that at f2.8 on a 100mm lens the depth of focus is very narrow so I still missed focus on a lot of shots. When the puppy is moving fast focus is hard especially on a black dog!

The originals are all colour and then converted to black and white in Lightroom.

Hope this helps

Tim

Great photos! My son who is 48 now is called Eliot. We named him after Eliot Ness of The Untouchables- an American Tv programme at the time- So it makes me smile hearing his name in a puppy!
