The Tale of Pip the Pup
Pippin had an accident - darted between hubby's legs when out walking and ended up with broken metatarsals. Xrays showed quite a few breaks but the vet was reluctant to operate as the growth plates would be affected and he might end up with a small foot.
This is Pippins first dressing:
Cage rest for the next 5/6 weeks and weekly dressing changes
Pippins second dressing:
The nurses decorated his bandage with little red crosses
Pippins third dressing:
The nurses did an amazing job of Pips bandage with this Minion
Pippins fourth dressing:
Vetinarary nurses have surpassed themselves this time . . .
More updates to come . . .

Poor Pippin How old is he now? Must be difficult for both him and you as I'm sure he is desperate to be up and doing.

What a nasty sounding accident, but sweet photos. Hopefully recovery will speed along and all be forgotten soon enough

Yes, hubby is so distraught and blaming himself but I told him accidents happen - Pip has a very bad habit of running under our feet and it could have been anyone - doesn't help, he still feels guiltyDawnspell wrote:I love his dressings. I bet your hubby felt awful when it happened

Re: The Tale of Pip the Pup
Pippin has been without bandages for a couple of weeks now with restrictions - but he's finally had the all clear. Hops, skips, jumps and lots of running YAY!
So, we went for walkies over the park - I let Pip off the lead and he was being really good, coming back I called him. There was a bloke with a husky type dog on a lead and Pippin wanted to play with said dog so ran over, the bloke said "my dog doesn't like other . . ." and that's when Pippin started screaming - the dog had him in his mouth and was shaking him. The bloke pulled Pip out of his jaws and said "see, I told you", and walked off. OMG people like him shouldn't be allowed to have pets especially with no muzzle or warning lead.
Anyway, Pippin was fine - no marks whatsoever. I think the dog must have had hold of the back of his neck or by his harness maybe - I feel very upset but thankful that he's okay physically, and time will tell if his psyche has been affected.
and afterwards . . . bathtime, so all clean again

Re: The Tale of Pip the Pup
Poor thing. I had a similar incident at about the same age but Basil soon forgot about it.
Nice herness - snap! They look lovely on black
Glad his foot is mending well.
